Easter's Story (cont'd.)
by Randall Mueller

Chapter 13 - Getting Easter Back

EasterWe had to drive to the Family Fun Center and back again because Easter is bad around cats. After a lot of driving we finally got there.

The lady had several complaints that she brought up. She said that Easter had jumped in the garbage can to try to get something, which was old news to us. She also said that Easter knocked her daughter over when her daughter was feeding Easter. Easter is crazy about food we already knew that as well.

She gave Easter back to us. I was happy to see her again but sad that they could not keep her. What were we going to do with this dog?

Chapter 14 - Getting Easter Spayed

We had an appointment with the vet to get Easter spayed. She was gaining a good amount of weight.

We took her in to the vet to get her spayed. The scale said that Easter had gained twenty pounds from when we first took her in to the vet.

Easter would have to stay overnight at the vet and we would pick her up the next day.

We went to the vet the vet the next day. The bill was expensive and we had to keep Easter inside for several days. She was not allowed to do any strenuous activity. She barked inside her crate and got crate trained the hard way!

Mom put Easter on the rope so she could go to the bathroom. This ignorant cat jumped into the yard and started taunting Easter. Easter's collar snapped and she started chasing the stupid cat. The vet said no strenuous activity so this was bad.

Mom had to tackle Easter so she wouldn't run any more. The cat ran away and Easter was fine.

Chapter 15 - More Stress

After that things were okay... for a while. Easter was so wild so it was really difficult to keep her calm.

A while after Easter got spayed mom noticed that Easter's stitches where she had the surgery were bumpy. I was playing with my legos when mom said, "We should go back to the vet. I noticed Easter's stitches look bad." Great, we had to get Easter back into the car drive her to the vet. (Again.)

I put my legos away then I got in the car with Easter sitting next to me then mom drove to the vet.

Chapter 16 - False Alarm

We got to the vet and got an appointment with the vet that spayed Easter. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get in.

Mom showed the vet Easter's stitches and told him about the cat that foolishly taunted Easter. The vet examined it. "It is fine for it to look like that," the vet said.

THANK GOODNESS. I did not want to go through more of this to get Easter's stitches fixed.

The vet was really nice and did not charge us a dime.

Chapter 17 - Part of our Family?

After that things mostly went way better. Easter had to sleep inside at night in her crate so a routine was developed. In the morning mom would walk Whoopi and then walk Easter, then after that mom would feed the dogs.

Sometimes the neighbor would come over and pet Easter. In the afternoon mom would pet Easter and Easter definitely loved her back.

Easter was starting to become a member of our family.

Part four coming soon!

The exciting events in Part 4 include Easter biting another dog and another attempt for Whoopi and Easter to become friends.
